Ametra App User Interior Designer
Rachel T. Johnson
Interior Designer, Austin, TX
Rachel, an interior designer, is managing multiple residential projects across various client properties. She’s looking for a more efficient way to select and coordinate colors, track project progress, and ensure that the paint work aligns with the overall design vision for each project. Here are six steps Rachel takes within the Ametra App to manage all her projects:

1. Create a Project for the Client
First, Rachel creates a new project for each client she is working with. This prevents her from getting confused between all of her different clients, and allows for both easy reference and management.
2. Create and Organize Areas and Items
Next, Rachel creates areas like “Living Room” and “Kitchen” and adds specific items like “Walls” and “Ceiling” for each area. Breaking down the project into areas and items prevents her from losing track of any important details.
3. Capture Target Colors
When it comes to choosing a color, Rachel usually extracts colors from fabric swatches, artwork, or existing décor items. She can also pull colors from her saved moodboard images on her phone. Ametra allows her to extract from a variety of sources, such as camera, camera roll, color picker, and more.
4. Match Paint Colors from Libraries
Once Rachel has chosen a color, Ametra immediately matches it to the closest paint colors from the available Paint Libraries. This provides the designer with the most precise color matches and a range of options to ensure the client’s needs are met.
5. Monitor Progress with Control Photos
Then when the painting process begins, Rachel takes photos to document each stage, ensuring the project stays on track. Control photos allow her to not only visually monitor the painting process, but ensure the final results align with her initial design intent.
6. Review Project at Completion
After the project is finished, Rachel then reviews photos of the completed painting work and compares them with initial plans. The final review helps ensure the paintwork meets the client’s expectations and that everything was completed according to the design specifications.
